By default, the {bookdown} package formats figure and table captions as, for example:
Figure 2.1: Here is a nice figure!
Is there a way to remove the : following Figure 2.1 or to change it to any arbitrary character (e.g., .):
Figure 2.1. Here is a nice figure!
I can change the Figure label to any arbitrary text as described here; however, I have not been able to find documentation for customizing the separator between the figure number and caption.
From the source code here, I fear that the colon is hard-coded in. Any suggestions or resources are greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to use figure captions (i.e., fig.cap) but without numbering, that is, with neither "Figure", nor the number shown in bookdown?
The best solution would be one that works for all output formats (say, gitbook, pdf_book and epub_book).
I remember there was a time that when you type # in R markdown it will immediately transfer to the heading output. Also, when you type **bold** it will immediately show the text in bold. But now I can't find a way to do this.
Is it possible to show the markdown output in the .rmd document? Thanks!
This behaviour will depend on the text editor you use. Some Markdown editors have a "What You See Is What You Get" (or WYSIWYG) philosophy that will do exactly what you describe. You can find examples of WYSIWYG Markdown editors online, I personally have only tried Typora. But as far as I can tell, none of them seem to support Rmarkdown (perhaps someone has made an Rstudio add-in?).
On the other hand, in the early days of knitr, it used to support Lyx (I don't know if it still does), which is maybe closer to what you have in mind? See this post for an example: https://yihui.org/knitr/demo/lyx/
I have a use-case involving Arabic text in a game, with custom font. I am currently using the createWithTTF API call, and selecting the Font file that I would need.
However, since Arabic is a Right to Left(RTL) language instead of a Left to Right(LTR) language, the texts are getting printed incorrectly. Apparently, the best solution for this is to use the createWithSystemFont API call. However with this call, I would not be able to use a custom font and I would have to resort to a system font.
Is there any way that you guys know in Cocos2DX to use a custom font, with Arabic text? I did look into this Github issue. I tried the Arabic Writer out, but this gives glitchy output in certain cases. I know that editing the source JSON/Plist file is an option, and I have tried using reversed Arabic strings in the source. However, since Arabic is a language that has combined characters, the result that I get on my UI is not 1:1 with the expected result, and some characters are disjointed(which are supposed to form a special character after getting merged).
Looking for suggestions on how to tackle this. I have looked into almost all open threads related to this, and could not find anything conclusive. Thanks!
I wrote a fix for the Persian language. It works for Arabic as well but you may need some Arabic only characters to it. (Might need some editing)

I have a Django Project where I used Sphinx to create my documentation. I went through sphinx-apidoc and ran 'make latexpdf'. The resulting documentation has a quite a few lines that flow out of the margin. On top of margin issues, lines in the index start overflowing onto each other.

The overflowing lines situation in the index should improve from adding this to conf.py:

Or, you can switch to Japanese language which does something like that (even better) out-of-the box from its special document class ;-)
TeX does not always know how by itself how to insert linebreaks: after all it is good at hyphenation of natural language. But as pointed out in comments Sphinx coerces LaTeX into handling better long code lines since 1.4.2.
Since recent 1.5.3, user can customize page margins, check http://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/stable/latex.html#the-sphinx-latex-style-package-options for documentation of hmargin and vmargin which can be configured via 'sphinxsetup'.
I am currently using Tesseract-OCR to recognize some texts in a picture .But now I have a question.Since some words can not be recognized .I specially have trained them and it still did not work!
Should I need some extra files when train the language data like the DAWG files or etc. I
have no idea about that. Because sometimes it can recognize a few of them when the words display at some special positions and directions .

Since the picture I wanna recognize is a table. there are a few lines in it. Could you have any idea on this situation when recognizing tables to improve the accuracy.
