Error while running unit tests in debug mode in VS2017 - unit-testing

While running my unit test in VS2017 in debug mode, after the build the run starts but immediately after i get an exception before any of my breakpoints are hit:
Managed Debugging Assistant 'BindingFailure'
Message=Managed Debugging Assistant 'BindingFailure' :'*The assembly with display name 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestPlatform.Extensions.MSAppContainerAdapter' failed to load in the 'Load' binding context of the AppDomain with ID 1. The cause of the failure was: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestPlatform.Extensions.MSAppContainerAdapter' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.*'
How can I figure it out where is this issue coming from?
The file in the exception message can be found under:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise\Common7\IDE\CommonExtensions\Microsoft\TestWindow\Extensions and has the version 15.0.28307
The VS2017 that i use has the version 15.9.11

Specflow skips test after execution with error: Error while unpacking executor:

after updating SpecflowRunner to 3.5.8 and re-installing the Specflow Package 2017.2.1 my tests cannot be executed and are skipped instead. When I open the log file I find this Error message:
Error while unpacking executor: System.TypeLoadException: The method "Initialize" in type "TechTalk.SpecRun.Framework.TestAssemblyExecutor" of the assembly "TechTalk.SpecRun.Framework.Executor, Version=1.8.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" is not implemented.
(Sorry, I had to translate the message)
A friend of mine has the same versions, but everything runs smoothly. We both use Visual Studio 2017.
Did I miss something, a cache that has to be cleared or anything else?
You have probably some old leftover files from before the update in your obj and bin folder.
Close Visual Studio
delete the folders
start Visual Studio
Rebuild Solution
After that, you should be able to execute your tests again.

Why doesn't the c++ file run in visual studio

So I tried making a basic game on the console using screen buffers, I was able to create it and make a square move in the canvas, but for my next project I looked up a website with the ASCII characters and pasted a couple into a comment at the end of the c++ file, when I ran the file visual studio prompted:
I clicked yes and it didn't run anymore.
Also I recently have installed an extension for visual studio (before it didn't run, the extension works fine but I don't know if the extension may have caused this as I didn't tried running it with the extension downloaded and applied), when I open visual studio and open a file it says:
The last record in the ActivityLog xml file, has a type of error and it's description is:
Microsoft.VisualStudio.Composition.CompositionFailedException: Expected 1 export(s) with contract name "Microsoft.VisualStudio.CppSvc.Internal.CodeAnalysis.ICodeAnalysisService" but found 0 after applying applicable constraints.

I have Visual Studio 2017
So why does running the file (with the local windows debugger button) say that there were build errors? And how can I fix it?
When it prompts the build error, and I click no it usually shows the errors but in this case it doesn't, yes will just run the last "successful" build (although I haven't changed the file since I have finished it before this error message started popping up)
Also there is no error in my code as I was able to run it before the build error kept appearing and I haven't touched the file since(only now to show the problems are)
Thanks for your time! if anything was unclear because of my English, comment and I'll try to clarify it
I fixed the error by deleting ComponentModelChache folder located at:
C:\Users\%userName%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\15.0
15.0 is the version of your visual studio so it varies depending on the version you're using, %userName% is a replacement for the user you're logged in as

Xamarin iOS deploy to device results in 'mscorlib.dll couldn't not be found'

While deploying my application on iOS Simulator it works without any problems, but when I attached iPhone 5 on the Mac, deploying to that device results in following errors from Visual Studio's debug console:
Tool /Library/Frameworks/Xamarin.iOS.framework/Versions/Current/bin/mtouch execution started with arguments: --cache [... paths and arguments ...]
AOT Compilation exited with code 1, command:
MONO_PATH= [...path...]
The assembly mscorlib.dll was not found or could not be loaded.
1> It should have been installed in the `/Users/builder/data/lanes/3969/7beaef43/source/xamarin-macios/builds/install/cross64/lib/mono/4.5/mscorlib.dll' directory.
Xamarin.iOS.Common.targets(696,3): error : Could not AOT the assembly '/Users/blagoja/Library/Caches/Xamarin/mtbs/builds/MobApp.iOS/1be55aeb91c215df9342d3daa452982b/C:/Users/xxx/AppData/Local/Temp/vsF8C6.tmp/iPhone/Debug/mtouch-cache/64/Build/System.dll'
So fifth sentence (or sixth line) is saying that 'mscorlib.dll' could not be found at specified path, but from showed path where it should reside, on my mac i see only first directory 'Users'... nothing else.
So yeah, i belive i should put there the 'mscorlib.dll' but copy-paste is the right choice?
Also i managed to find multiple versions for mscorlib.dll into Developer/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/{version}/lib/mono/{mono_versions}/mscordlib.dll. So maybe the configuration has path mismatches?

MSB4018 The "ResolveComReference" task failed unexpectedly

I am currently trying to upgrade our c++ mfc solution from visual studio 2010 to a visual studio 2013 solution. When i try to build it i get the error MSB4018 The "ResolveComReference" task failed unexpectedly. I enabled fusion logging and this is what it tells me:

I understand that msbuild has been moved, but i dont understand why it is trying to find System.dll in the msbuild path, how can i make it look for it in its proper location?
Edit:
I have now also tried upgrading to visual studio 2012 which worked without bigger problems and I did not run into the same problem. However i noticed that when running devenv /upgrade (with vs2013) it seems to completely change everything under vc++ directories (it stayed unchanged when upgrading to vs2012). Could this have something to do with this issue?
Edit2:
Tried to build the project in vs2013 after upgrading it to 2012 (without running devenv /upgrade), this also didnt work so I guess the problem is not related to that...
After enabling diagonostic build output i found that it was 3 broken COM references in the project that where failing to load. Removing these references solved the building issue. These where only showing up as warnings in vs2010 but resulted in MSB4018 in vs 2013 for some reason.
This is your problem:
LOG: Appbase = file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/MSBuild/12.0/bin/
Fix the base folder in your build system if you really need it to point to another filder. However it would probably be better to redo you build system targeting 2013 instead of patching the 2010 version.

Exception discovering xUnit.net tests with Visual Studio Online build server

I am using Xunit.net with Visual Studio Online hosted build. My tests are being discovered and run fine both locally and on the build server. But on the build server I get this exception (causing the build to reach a "Partially Succeeded" state). This is odd, since all my tests are in fact being discovered and run.

I have the following nuget packages installed in the test project:
xunit 1.9.2
xunit.runner.visualstudio 0.99.2
Other unit testing frameworks, such as MS Test and NUnit, are working without problems. This makes me think the issue is with Xunit.net rather than with Visual Studio Online.
I have also opened an issue at the xUnit.net GitHub, but it remains unsolved.
https://github.com/xunit/xunit/issues/47
How can I get this working? Does anyone know of a workaround? Could I somehow suppress the error message?
The testrunner tries to discover the unit tests in xunit.runner.visualstudio.testadapter.dll. Why? Because it matches the default test sources spec of *.test*.dll.
When changing the default test source spec to *.tests.dll or something else more specific, it will work.
