I am trying to get my first dashboard with python dash running.
The whole thing is very similar to this https://github.com/dkrizman/dash-manufacture-spc-dashboard.
At the beginning a Dataframe is read in from a csv. My problem seems to be quite easy to solve but somehow I am not succeeding:
I want to create a initial window that allows the user to select (from e.g. dropdown) the csv file (or accordingly the path) that is read in. All the .csv files look the same but just have different values.
When using the modal components I get problems with the install of bootstrap and I thought there must be an easier way?

I am having difficulty importing a CSV File into Stata. I have tried using the import delimited feature. Stata does not recognize the semi-colon separated data as separate data points. I also have access to a plain text file but I haven't had success with that either. Any suggestions?
I see that you've figured out a solution already, but did you specify "delimiters(";")" when you were using "import delimited"? Otherwise, Stata assumes the delimiters are commas.
I am using Workbook gem to preview the excel file without page breaks in my website. Right now, I am successful in extracting the excel file and writing it into html format and display as preview.
The following code extracts and writes the excel to html:
excel_file = Workbook::Book.open "#{file_url}"
excel_file.write_to_html(file_name + ".html")
But this gives me an unformatted html sheet with no rows and columns or any of the existing excel file.
According to murb/workbook documentation, it is said that we can pass the format as a hash within its options.
write_to_html(filename = "#{title}.html", options = {})
So, to achieve the format hash, I tried the following code:
excel_file.template.formats
But this returns a null hash. So, how can i get all the formats from the excel file and write to html? Or at least show the html table with borders for all rows and columns.
The author here. The Workbook gem is mainly built to extract and rerepresent the data in files, and not so much the formatting. In the past I made a few attempts on adding support to maintain formatting when converting, but it is far from complete. Some importers don't even set the formatting hash as you found out, notably the xlsx importer needs work on this.
The HTML was built to simply give a basic preview of the data. It basically returns a html-page with all tables which is by default unformatted, although format-names are used in the classes. There is an option though, if you'd pass style_with_inline_css: true... but then it requires an importer to actually set the format hash properly...
I'm happy to guide you here and there when you want to improve the xlsx importer code to suit your needs and hopefully the workbook gem in general, but it will need serious work if you want more than just some background colours and font properties.
One of the fields in my database table is named DATEOFDISCHARGEFROMITU. In any report output, this displays as DATEOFDISCHARGEFRU. I've figured out that the missing characters form the word 'OMIT', which makes me think it's related to this old problem in a previous version of ApEx (I'm using version 4.1.)
Is there a way to display the whole field name in the report header when the field name contains the string 'OMIT'?
Note: Using html character codes will allow the field name to display properly, but then when the report is exported to CSV the character codes are of course shown instead of the full field name. I need a solution that works for exports as well as displaying onscreen.

Note: I am not sure how the linked OTN post is relevant to your problem aside from the coincidence that their file export contains the word "OMIT" and your column title contains the word "OMIT".
It's safe to say that "OMIT" isn't an APEX or ORACLE reserved word that is sabotaging your output. However, if you were talking about a scrap of SQL that attempted to create a table named "SELECT" or "WHERE"
i.e., SELECT * FROM "SELECT" WHERE...
you'll be blocked by the RDBMS from proceeding. :)
I tried an export with a query that contained a column header labeled "OMIT" (see the far right in the example.) The .csv file interpreted by Microsoft Excel looked like this:

In summary, the linked post suggests to set up a dynamic PL/SQL Function within a page item. The page item can be referenced directly in the report column header definition. This is a screenshot demonstrating a possible solution:

I solved this by using this solution for exporting to csv without an enclosing quote character - as that was another challenge I was faced with for the particular application I was developing. By manually creating the export file I was also able to define the column headings exactly, and the "OMIT" issue did not occur.
Technically that's not a solution for displaying a report with the required headings that can also be exported (Richard's response does that) but it does what I need it to and solves the immediate problem of the DATEOFDISCHARGEFROMITU column heading.
I accidentally created a file with no extension and I chose the wrong file type association. Text Document I think. I renamed it to have the .js extension which is what I wanted, but now it's stuck without any syntax highlighting. WebStorm doesn't treat it as a javascript file. I can't find anywhere to change how WebStorm treats this file. I've tried renaming it and renaming it back and that doesn't work. With any other name, (with a .js extension) it treats it as a javascript file, but not as the original name.
How can I fix this? The WebStorm documentation is no help.
In Settings (or Preferences for mac) > Editor > File Types you can edit patterns by which a file gets associated as some type or other.
If you select the patterns for a file type you have wrongly selected (in your case Text type) you can remove the filename pattern with which was created to associate you file's filename as a wrong type.
Then click Apply > OK
I've had this problem in php storm 8.0.3 on OSX.
I was struggling with a single file that had been added as a text file, but I'd typed in the .js extension.
I tried deleting and recreating, renaming and renaming back, deleting .idea altogether. Nothing worked.
I found that PHPStorm had added the entire file name to the list of patterns for a text file.
....
*.txt
myfile.js
... etc
This was obviously overriding all other settings. And futhermore it was in the IDE Config not the project config. So I'm guessing every other project would have suffered the same issue.
Once I knew where to look it was easily fixed.
Navigate to:
PhpStorm > Preferences > Editor > File Types > <highlight> Text files
Then find myfile.js in the Registered Patterns panel and delete it.
The file should immediately assume it's correct association.
Go to Settings->File Types and then click on "Text Files". You should see the file if you scroll down. You can then remove it with the association by selecting it and clicking the - (minus) button
Refer to File -> Settings -> IDE Settings -> File Types
In right select "Text files" in Reconigzed File Types then find in Registered Patterns your file and click remove your file
On Windows 8, I was able to remove the invalid association by going under File > Settings > Editor > File Types, then I selected "Text files" as the Recognised File Type and removed the invalid entry from the Registered Patterns block at the bottom.
So much answers and everything is close but no one as in my case.
A had an issue with .vue files. My old PHpStorm version did not track the .vue files, so I somehow associated them as .js files. However, this was a mistake because the syntax is different and I saw a lot of "mistakes" in the code.
Yeah, the solution is really in Settings (or Preferences for mac) > Editor > File Types dialogue. In the window you can see the list of possible associations. At the very bottom of the list you'll see the Vue.js Templates and I had no associations in the bottom window (see the pic), so I manually added *.vue association after clicking green "+".
I think this would be right for any proper file type added to PHPStorm. However, you can add your own file type.
In the new WebStorm versions we can click on the file, select the option Override File Type and change for the type that we want.

I have found in phpstorm that I can use the Refactor > Rename... function to associate a file of unspecified file type (e.g. a name with no extension) with a file type.
For example if I have a bash script named do_the_things I can Refactor > Rename it to do_the_things.sh which causes it to pick up the bash highlighting, then when I Refactor > Rename it back to do_the_things it keeps the bash highlighting.
This works in PHPStorm, i can assume in WebStorm should be something similar

Edit it with any text editor and delete needed row, for example

In my case, the file in question, DepositBreakdownList.js, was associated with a "type" called "File type auto-detected by file content". Selecting it and then removing it (with the minus sign button) allowed the file to be treated as a proper JavaScript file again.
Until I did that, I was unable to use Live Templates associated with JavaScript, even though the file extension was .js, which was just maddening.
I've found a solution,
delete (o rename as .old) the file:
C:\Users\.PyCharmCE\config\options\filetypes.xml
Es:
C:\Users\goofy.PyCharmCE2018.3\config\options\filetypes.xml
After like an hour of searching and screwing around I found a fix:
I renamed the file (through the refactor command) to a temporary file name. Then I created a new file with the correct name with the .js extension and it worked, then I copied the code from the original to the newly created file with the correct extension.
I imagine selecting "new javascript file" and doing the same thing would also work.
