I am creating two charts Line Chart and Donut Chart on same HTML Page using Google JS API. But these charts are not responsive. How can I make those charts as responsive?
The Google Charts API was probably not designed with responsiveness in mind, specifically. The default size of the chart is to fill the element it's being rendered into, so you can just use CSS and Media Queries like you would normally do to make a responsive design.
The only real problem is that once the chart is drawn, it doesn't change it's size in a desktop window resize-type scenario. In Angular Google Chart we listen for the window's resize event and redraw the chart.
I've seen some of the resize strategy paired with a bit of JavaScript to keep the chart the same aspect ratio no matter how wide it is.
Anything more specific will need a more detailed question. I am intentionally not including any code for this answer, because whatever I write will probably be wrong for your situation.

I made a responsive doughnut in chartjs. On mobile devices the size fills out the screen nicely and is as I'd like it but when I switch to desktop it also fills out the entire screen and is too big for my liking. Is there a way to set the relative size to for example, half screen when viewing on desktop and then reverting to full-screen if being viewed on mobile?
I tried the different settings on the chartjs site but can't find anything helpful.
Per How to Change Apache Superset Template from the Superset User Interface? , I was able to change the CSS template for Superset dashboard. But the charts inside the dashboard are not affected. e.g. most of the charts have white colored background(e.g. Piechart) and some people dislike it. How to change the chart background color? I mean change it for all charts or for one chart.
Disclaimer: This should work, but is a bit hacky and could have long-term support implications:
I've been fiddling with a "dark mode" dashboard just to kick the tires on this. Here's a screenshot just for fun:
So... what did I do?
Click "Edit Dashboard" in the top right of your screenshot
When in edit mode, the top right menu has an option to "Edit CSS"
Use your browser's inspector to hack away! That said, here are a couple of key ingredients:
.dashboard-component{ background: whatever} - sets the main background of each viz card, but you'll still see many components still have white backgrounds within these wrappers.
.slice_container svg{
background-color: transparent !important;
} - this overrides the white background of the components I ran into (including Pie charts!).
If viz components use SVG you can get pretty clever with inspecting/overriding various bits. A couple of gotchas with the above:
If a viz component contains multiple SVG elements, this may have side effects.
If a viz uses canvas instead of svg you will run into more trouble
In the worst case scenario, you may need to check out the superset-ui-plugins repo and make tweaks. This dev process isn't super straightforward, but some of us are working to improve that.
Easiest solution for me is using dark reader extension.
Programming the GDK a few weeks now, the CardScrollView is a pretty nice interface for displaying cards. However one issue with the UI is showing the user how far along they are in the card stack. In the Mirror API, this is nicely handled by the Slider view at the bottom of the screen as described on the Glass Design page:
https://developers.google.com/glass/design/style/metrics-grids
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get this Slider object to display on the CardScrollView and instead have resorted to a klugey 1 of n text.
Is there any way to get this Slider view to display in the GDK?
This is not yet supported by our API but is currently tracked with Issue #256.
For future reference, this feature has been already implemented as described in the original issue.
You can use the method setHorizontalScrollBarEnabled to show the bar, e.g.
mCardScrollView.setHorizontalScrollBarEnabled(true);
I'd like to add paging controls to my Google Visualization bar chart, similar to the one described here (keywords: thenez101 Google Visualization BarChart Paging), but instead of flowing my paging controls around the Google bar chart, I'd like to place them on top of the chart. When I place my controls inside the chart's div, however, I see them only until the chart is drawn.
Assigning my controls a CSS class whose z-index property I have changed to positive and negative has not worked. Perhaps I can change their z position after my ready event has fired? Has anyone succeeded in getting this working?
Thanks, BH
I'm trying to automate some PowerPoint charts, but I'm having problems preserving some formatting.
When I add a chart using a chart template, the chart doesn't use the slides color scheme, but rather the colors it was saved with. It doesn't help to change the color scheme for the slide - the chart isn't updated. To make the chart update to the color scheme of the slide, I have to clear formatting for the chart. The problem with doing this is that all font sizes are automatically set to 18pt. I cannot find any easy way restore the font sizes for the chart without saving all sizes before calling clear, and set them back after clearing.
Have you looked into using the Format Painter function it may or may not work depending on a variety of factors from my quick look on the net (google it for lots of articles).
Also if you've done one chart you should be able to copy the formatting from one chart to another using the paste special option as mentioned here http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/there-format-painter-equivalent-use-many-charts-t3611646.html .
