I tried to install pocketsphinx by
brew instal cmu-pocketsphinx
and
make install (followed instructions here: http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/wiki/gstreamer)
the pocketsphinx_continuous works properly, but I can't find a executable pocketsphinx for
gst-inspect pocketsphinx
could anyone tell me where to find it, please?

You need to check if plugin pocketsphinx.so is installed in
/usr/local/lib/gstreamer-<version>
If plugin is there you need to export GST_PLUGIN_PATH environment variable to update gstreamer search path.
If plugin is not there you need to check build log for the information why plugin was not created or installed properly. Most likely you didn't have required development headers so plugin compilation was disabled.
I had the same problem under Raspbian Jessie. The problem was that when I compiled Pocketsphinx the libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-dev was missing, so no plugin could be compiled. Maybe someone else asked the same question too. But this question is difficult. I tried everything. The place I am stuck is with installing dependencies. Some of the dependencies are old and not easily available. But I managed to install them.
The problems lies here.. There are dependencies that need to get the build from their source code. I already installed Visual C++ Build and MSMPI. Also installed HDF5 for H5PY but it doesn't let me build old versions of H5PY. So, I tried installing the latest version of H5PY but still, I am stuck at errors like file not found. Some of the files which the build process cannot find are "h5py/h5f.pyx", "mpi_c", "mpi.h". Solving error for one missing file leads to other and so on..
On trying hard to solve such errors and installing one or the other package to do the same task, I am tired up.. Something I found, at last, was that "mpi_c" file was replaced with some other file in newer versions of MPI4PY. But my dependencies depend on older version. I tried installing an older version of MPI4PY but HDF5 won't let me install that giving other errors. At last, I quit the task with my whole day wasted after this.
So can someone here please provide a step by step guideline for installing Rasa Stack on Windows Machine?
Windows 10 with Python 3.7.. Let me know if I need to downgrade python as well.. It was my first time building some project from source with python on windows. Thanks...

Install Conda
Create a virtual environment:

I try to build openCV with Extramodules. If I try to configure the projectfiles (vc14 x32 on windows 10) with cmake there's the error:

Did anyone ever have this problem and knows how to solve it?
The simple answer is you are using incompatible versions of opencv and opencv_contrib, you might be installing current version of opencv_contrib on maybe opencv2.4.xx
Well, the download link for opencv contrib in CMake script https://raw.githubusercontent.com/opencv/opencv_3rdparty/fccf7cd6a4b12079f73bbfb21745f9babcd4eb1d now is 400: Invalid request.
From the commit https://github.com/opencv/opencv_contrib/commit/593e78c5d084aa0a29eb1e0459fc7f7a4dd52ea8 you can try to ignore the added line in CMakeLists include(cmake/download_vgg.cmake) and rebuild.
The below is basing on my experience, I'm not sure it will works for OpenCV 3.0.
Maybe you can try to clone opencv contrib from git, then copy it to somewhere (for example modules directory in opencv source code). Then use CMAKE to set OPENCV_EXTRA_MODULES_PATH. If the hash is correct then it won't download and use the offline package.
I have try and build success OpenCV 2.x with IPP.

Make sure you have active internet connection while building Opencv with contrib module.
When you hit config button on cmake(gui), it downloads other files like
vgg_generated_...
boostdesc_binboost_...
boostdesc_lbgm.i
P.S: i compiled Opencv 3.1 with contrib. Cmake downloaded required files & configure was Done.
I'm trying to install a package which depends on camlzip (an OCaml package provided my opam). This package depends on zlib, I know this because I tried before and ran into the same error seen here.
The issue is that when I install zlib to $PKG_DIR/sw by running ./configure --prefix=$PKG_DIR/sw I get the same error suggesting that zlib isn't installed. (I have of course add $PKG_DIR/sw to the PATH)
I'm a bit new to Linux, and I'm probably missing an environment variable but I have no idea what. Any help is appreciated.
I've downloaded dicom3tools in Ubuntu apt-get install dicom3tools, but certain apps are not present.
I've downloaded the source and compiled according to directions on Ubuntu without errors. I have access to most of the apps in the kit, but some just seem to be missing or not compiling.
I need a working binary copy of the pbmtoovl tool from this kit.
Can anyone help me?
Do you know why it is missing?
Do I need to compile differently?
Do you have a copy of the pbmtoovl app pre-compiled?
There is no info on this anywhere on the web, I have nowhere else to turn.

I ran

and everything looked fine.

but still no rawtodc or pbmtoovl or any of the dicom creation tools. I really need these tools. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. On Ubuntu 14 –
I am the author of the dicom3tools debian package. The explanation is given online here.
When you install a debian package, you are required to read the documentation. In this case the documentation was available on your system from:
$ cat /usr/share/doc/dicom3tools/README.Debian
So you'll need to follow the build instructions yourself (see INSTALL):
Edit config/site.p-def to set your UID root (a la UseClunieID, to be
selected with a UseXXXXID define on the imake command line).
NB. Don't ever use any UseClunie*ID or your instances
will conflict with mine !

I finally did a fresh Ubuntu install, installed xutils, g++, gcc and ran the compiling instructions. It did not install, again, but this time I did have a new directory in bin ending in 'unknown' that miraculously contained all of the compiled binaries. I added that dir to the PATH and VOILA I can access all the tools from the command line....
It's still a problem, but I can now use pbmtoovl
I've been strugling for two weeks to create an environment for building a gstreamer plugin on windows (needed for a songbird addon).
I've installed MSYS, MinGW and Cygwin, then installed GStreamer OSSBuild, and I also downloaded the sources for Songbird, which come with their own precompiled version of gstreamer.
I was unable to run gst-inspect (or any other gstreamer applications) from the songbird sources and I figured I will settle for OSSBuild (as I was able to run gst-inspect from the compiled OSSBuild).
When following the instructions for building a GST plugin (found here) through, cygwin will not recognize the OSSBuild and the build fails when running autogen, with the following error:

packages on your system. On debian-based systems these are
libgstreamer0.10-dev and libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev.
on RPM-based systems gstreamer0.10-devel, libgstreamer0.10-devel

I could also not use MSYS or MinGW as they are unable to run autogen at all.
I understand that cygwin should have it's own gstreamer development packages but I couldn't find how to install them.
My question: How do I install the gstreamer packages in cygwin or how do I build using cygwin with the OSSBuild dependencies?
In short, how do I get an environment where I can build a gstreamer plugin under windows?
you can install precompiled gstreamer packages for cygwin at cygwinports. there you will find installation instructions and a list of available packages. you should not need to build them from source.
Configure's most likely going to look for libtool (.la) or pkg-config (.pc) files. Since OSSBuild is built using MSVC, you're not likely to get those files so configure can pick them up. However, you can manually create them and set them in a location to be picked up by the script. I do know that OSSBuild does have as its goal to eventually provide Visual Studio-compatible C/C++ project templates for GStreamer plugins as well as libtool and pkg-config files, but they're not available just yet.
If you checkout the OSSBuild source and can follow MSVC property files, you can see how the plugins are setup and configured.
