Azure Web Site with Django 500 Error - django

I've spent over 8 hours trying to get this Django site up and running on an Azure Website. I've nearly thrown in the towel would really appreciate some help.
So far I have tried numerous methods and followed different tutorials, but they have all yielded the same result. Here is the most recent tutorial I have followed: http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/develop/python/tutorials/web-sites-with-django/
Now that my site is "up", I am seeing a 500 error for all requests. Here is the error in the log:
The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.
Most likely causes:
IIS received the request; however, an internal error occurred during
the processing of the request. The root cause of this error depends on which mo
dule handles the request and what was happening in the worker process when this
error occurred. IIS was not able to access the web.config file for t
he Web site or application. This can occur if the NTFS permissions are set incor
rectly. IIS was not able to process configuration for the Web site o
r application. The authenticated user does not have permission to u
se this DLL. The request is mapped to a managed handler but the .
NET Extensibility Feature is not installed.
Things you can try:
Ensure that the NTFS permissions for the web.config file are correct
and allow access to the Web server's machine account. Check the ev
ent logs to see if any additional information was logged. Verify the p
ermissions for the DLL. Install the .NET Extensibility feature if th
e request is mapped to a managed handler. Create a tracing rule to tra
ck failed requests for this HTTP status code. For more information about creatin
g a tracing rule for failed requests, click here.
Please help!

I got it working by settings up a new django project from the azure gallery and changed some configs and such.
Edit: The configs I updated was just the name of my app. In my case I also updated the database config with the database I wanted to use in settings.py.
The lesson learned from this is that it is easier to initialize the app from Azure's "Create from gallery" feature, and then pull down the source and modify it via ftp or git to achieve the desired project structure/naming.

Intermittent server error when submitting forms using Django

I am getting the following 500 server error when I deploy my Django web application to google app engine:
Error server error the server encountered an error and could not complete your request please try again in 30 seconds
Simply refreshing the page solves this issue and renders the page. However, this isn't ideal and I want the page to load correctly the first time tried. This error does not occur on my localhost, it only occurs on the deployed site and typically during form submissions and rendering detail pages.
I've researched the HTTP status codes in Django extensively from their documentation. It does not matter if the app is set in DEBUG mode or not. The same error appears. This is happening for both GET and POST requests. I have also tried to use a try-except block to retry the request multiple times before accepting failure.
My configuration:
Django: 3.2.9
Browser: Chrome 98.0.4758.80
Simply needed to upgrade my google app engine tier to a more professional level. Nothing was wrong, I just outgrew my tier and it just needed more computing power.

GAE Error | Server Encountered an Error and couldn't complete your request. Please try again after 30 seconds

We have an app running on Google App Engine with Python 2.7 runtime which can be assessed using Google Login, implemented using users API endpoint.
We are getting an error "Server Encountered an Error and couldn't complete your request. Please try again after 30 seconds" whenever user tries to open the web app.. The error is thworn on App Engine side, since the 500 error happens on that line where this call is made 'GET https://appengine.google.com/_ah/conflogin'.
This happens for both mobile(majorly) and web. It shows the same error when we try after the specified time.
However when we clear the browser cookies, cache, history etc etc it starts working. Not sure why. But we cannot users to clear all such stuffs all time as they might loose the information that they browsed.
We tried various cases for login(multiple login, single login, incognito mode) but couldn't figure the root cause of the problem.
Have anyone faced such issues before? If yes please share how you solved it.

How do I get Alexa Voice Service registration code?

How do I get a registration code or otherwise solve this problem?
While writing this question, I realized the crux of this problem is the bottom-most part of this question: I'm not getting the popup I'm supposed to get and when I enter the URL in a browser it says invalid registration code.
I'm attempting to develop an Alexa Voice Service application. Website/companion service only. I have gone through the Reference Implementation Guide twice and have double checked that all of the setup has been done correctly.
This is the server error I get: invalid registration code. I never did anything with a registration code and can't seem to find anything about a registration code (relevant to Alexa) anywhere after googling quite a bit.
Listening on port 3000
error: { [InvalidRegistrationCode: The provided registration code was invalid.]
name: 'InvalidRegistrationCode',
message: 'The provided registration code was invalid.',
status: 401 }
Error: Can't set headers after they are sent.
Here's the client output:
vlcj: (DefaultMediaPlayer.java:183)
addMediaPlayerEventListener(listener=com.amazon.alexa.avs.AVSAudioPlayer$1#4b3a4950)
There was a problem connecting to the Companion Service. Trying again in 2 seconds. Please make sure it is up and running.
[DEBUG] joining on thread Thread[Timer-0,5,com.amazon.alexa.avs.AVSApp]
There was a problem connecting to the Companion Service.
Trying again in 2 seconds. Please make sure it is up and running.
The AVS launcher opens too, and when I record something and send it I get:
com.amazon.alexa.avs.AVSException: 403 Invalid Access Token
The instructions mention (at the very bottom of the reference guide) that I need to:
Please register your device by visiting the following website on any system and following the instructions: https://localhost:3000/provision/************** That URL is supposed to pop something up once the companion service but that hasn't happened.
Any thoughts on how can I fix this?
I was following a good document Project: Raspberry Pi + Alexa Voice Service at https://github.com/amzn/alexa-avs-raspberry-pi . It describes all steps very well.
Please take a look at the following steps:
3 - Getting started with Alexa Voice Service
3.1 Register for a free Amazon Developer Account
3.4 Register your product and create a security profile.
6 - Enable Security Profile
This thread on the Amazon developer forums seems related: http://forums.developer.amazon.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=11327&tstart=0
Quoted response:
There are a number of potential issues causing that error.
You might be sending an invalid scope. Are you sending "alexa:all" as
the scope? Or, your security profile might not be correctly linked. Is
it selected in the dropdown on the developer portal?
Are you getting an access token from the companion service, or is the
text box blank? If you're not getting an access token, check that your
device serial number matches between the companion service and the
java client. If you're getting an access token, the problem is more
likely with your security profile.
You should also look at these threads to see if they're helpful...

If that doesn't help, you'll probably have more luck asking the AVS team directly on their forum site.

Cubesviewer configuration for proper authentication

I'm trying to configure cubesviewer and try out the setup.
I've got the app installed running, along with cubes slicer app too.
However, when I visit the home page
http://127.0.0.1:8000/cubesviewer/
it fails popping up an error "Error occurred while accessing the data server"
Debugging with the browser console, shows a http status 403 error with the url http://localhost:8000/cubesviewer/view/list/
After some googling and reading, I figured I'll need to add rest frame auth settings. (as mentioned here.).
Now after running migrate and runserver, I get 401 error on that url.
Clearly I'm missing something with settings.py , Can somebody help me out.
I'm using the cubesviewer tag v0.10 from the github repo.
And find my settings here. http://dpaste.com/2G5VB5K
P.S: I've verified Cubes slicer works separately on its' own.
I have reproduced this. This is error may occur when you use different URL to access a website and to access related resources. For security reasons, browsers allow to access resources from exactly the same host as the page you are viewing.
Seems you are accessing the app via http://127.0.0.1:8000, but you have configured CubesViewer to tell clients to access the data backend via http://localhost:8000. While it's the same IP address, they are different strings.
Try accessing the app as http://localhost:8000.
If you deploy to a different server, you need to adjust settings. Here are the relevant configuration options, now with more comments:
# Base Cubes Server URL.
# Your Cubes Server needs to be running and listening on this URL, and it needs
# to be accessible to clients of the application.
CUBESVIEWER_CUBES_URL="http://localhost:5000"
# CubesViewer Store backend URL. It should point to this application.
# Note that this must match the URL that you use to access the application,
# otherwise you may hit security issues. If you access your server
# via http://localhost:8000, use the same here. Note that 127.0.0.1 and
# 'localhost' are different strings for this purpose. (If you wish to accept
# requests from different URLs, you may need to add CORS support).
CUBESVIEWER_BACKEND_URL="http://localhost:8000/cubesviewer"
Alternatively, you could change CUBESVIEWER_BACKEND_URL to "http://127.0.0.1:8000/cubesviewer" but I recommend you to use hostnames and not IP addresses for this.
Finally, I haven't yet tested with CORS support, but check this pull request if you wish to try that approach.

recieving error The file you are attempting to save or retrieve has been blocked from this Web site by the server administrators.<nativehr>0x800401e6

After building and deploying, checked the solution management from Central administration and it's up, a simple web service method that only created a Document Library list with a few columns when trying to retrieve the wsdl or even just by calling the WS fromt the adress since its a void method I recieve some error:
The file you are attempting to save or retrieve has been blocked from this Web site by the server administrators.<nativehr>0x800401e6</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>
The very same method runs fine when called from another web service project that is already deployed so there's nothing wrong with the code. I'm most probably doing something wrong but can't figure.
The system is running on a win server 2008 with sharepoint 2010, framework 3.5 and "ANY" cpu mode.
thank you!
[edit]
Managed to get rid of the previous error by removing asmx extention from the blocked file list in central administration now instead I'm recieving a 404 error:
