I cannot figure out how to edit a menu in dotCMS. I have been assigned the task of removing an item off a menu. If I login to dotCMS and navigate to the URL it will show the page integrated with the CMS. It shows a up-down arrow box for adjusting the order of the menu items. I cannot, however, find how to add/remove/rename the items. If I click on the up/down arrows it forwards me to a menu-reordering page. It does not give any links to further manage the menu from there. I did some searches in Website > Links without any luck.
Pages or directories are included in te menu if it has the option "show on menu" checked. You can uncheck it by going to the website tab in the cms and right click on te page or the directory you want to exclude. Click on properties in the context menu and in the new page uncheck the "show on menu" checkbox. The checkbox could be on the second tab, just look for it there, you'll fin it easy enough. Hope this helps.

I have created an interactive report without choosing a new navigation menu option. Now I want to add a new navigation menu on the left side for my interactive report which I have created. How can I achieve it?
Thanks
The navigation menu is just a list. You can go to "Shared Components" > "Lists", and open it there. Alternatively, it will be visible from the page builder. In the page builder for that page, in the left pane, the far right tab says "Page Shared Components". The navigation is under "Lists" > "Page Navigation". That will open the list region for that page. Click the ">" icon next to "Source" to edit the list.
All the options under ribbon tabs are greyed out in SharePoint 2013. I am only the site administrator and site owner and permissions has been set to full control but still all the options are disabled under ribbon tabs i.e in format text and insert ribbon tab.
Even I selected the web part and checked but still the options are greyed out. I have to modify content editor web part but I am not able to do that.
Are you sure that no one else has the page already checked out / editing?
You can choose Site Actions > Show ribbon.
If another user has it checked out, sometimes this can happen - looks like your permissions have been lost, when in fact the page is being edited by another user.
Occasionally, users click into the media library while in the content tree in the content editor, and it winds up presenting them with only the media library tree afterward, with no option to pop up a level. Why might this be happening? Thank you.
The default setting for all new users in Sitecore is to not show the full tree. This is a common problem I see all the time.
Have each of your users do the following:
Click the Sitecore logo in the content editor (top left corner)
Select the Application Options menu
Select the View tab
Check the box for Show Entire Content Tree
Refresh the browser to reload the content editor and the tree should now be fixed
I'm maintaining a Facebook iFrame application, and my client is worried about the transition to Timeline. Basically, they want their home page to have a big icon next to 'Photos' that takes the user to the page hosting the iFrame. The tricky thing is that users can "pledge" within the app, and they want the link icon to look different depending on whether or not the user has pledged within the app. Is there any way to do this?
Assuming the answer is no, is there a way to add a second icon for the iFrame app so that I can customize one to look different? Or would I need to set up another page hosting the same iFrame?
Thanks!
Go to Fan Page Timeline, click the arrow on the half box to the right of photos, likes etc (assuming you haven't changed the order of the apps), hover over the icon you want to change and click on the pencil icon that shows up in the top right corner. Then click "edit settings". Here you can change the tab image or give the tab a custom name.
alternatively you can enter the edit page settings, go to the apps section, edit the app, and you can change the icon from there.
in either case, you will need to be a page admin to complete the task.

Facebook just added the functionality for developers to set a default image. Here is the post in the Developer Blog.
I have several wiki pages on my project hosted on Google Code. How do I set one of my pages as a "Table of Contents"? I noticed that for some other projects, naming a page as TableOfContents will make it the default page displayed on clicking the "Wiki" tab. This did not work for me.
How do I add a "Table of Contents" to my Google Code wiki?
Got it!
Under the "Administer" tab, select "Tabs". Enter the name of the "Table of Contents" page in the "Wiki:" textbox.
Bonus tip: To set a project-wide sidebar (almost always a TOC, displayed on all wiki pages):
Select the "Administer" tab, click on "Wiki"
Scroll down to the "Wiki sidebar" section
Enter the name of the sidebar page under "Show the following page as a sidebar on all wiki pages:"
