I can't get Facebook app settings right for a photo upload

I have a vb6 application that creates a jpg image. I need to have the user click on a button to have that image uploaded to her Facebook page. I created a Facebook app and use an api (chilkat) with my vb6 to do the upload. But, I've really been stumbling around trying to get it working. On the Facebook side, what settings should I have to just upload a photo? For example, this runs on Windows PCs... what platform do I designate in my Facebook app??
Also, my current attempts get an error from Facebook saying that "Can't Load URL: The domain of this URL isn't included in the app's domains." I expect this upload to be from the user's PC to Facebook. What URL/domain do they want?
Are there samples of this type of thing that I could check? Thanks - John
New info as of Nov 12 --
I have the Facebook app set as a Website using "localhost" which seems to move me along a bit. But, now I get the error --
"The request is invalid because the app is configured as a desktop app"
Is that telling me my Facebook app is a desktop??... or that my vb6 code says it is a desktop? If I have to change the Facebook platform, it looks like I need a Windows store id? If so, is that just a simple registration (and $19)? Thanks - John

Facebook tab page load app doesn't pass parameter

I have an app in a facebook page tab that show some informations and this information must change for every user (ID_USER). I don't know how to load the correct data in the facebook app tab page. My app is a Django app. I've done this step:
1) create an app in my developers account (a page tab application) with this url https://www.exemple.com/ID_USER.
2) load the url https://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=MY_APP_ID&redirect_uri=www.exemple.com/ID_USER
3) Select in the window the page to install the app
4) I go to the page and I found the app.
The problem is that the app is only for a user and I would like to load the right data for every facebook page the app is installed.
I've read about signed_request and app_data but I don't understand how to set app_data. Canyou help me please?
* EDIT *
The problem seems to be the django internationalization redirect from
https://www.example.com/ID_USER
to
https://www.example.com/en/ID_USER
in my network console I see
302 https://www.example.com/ID_USER (with 'signed_request')
200 https://www.example.com/en/ID_USER (without 'signed_request')
How can I solve this issue?

why can't I see my facebook canvas page?

I've created a new app that will be accessed via a canvas page on facebook. I've entered the required domain and url, but I'm not seeing anyplace on facebook where I can actually see the canvas page. I'm in sandbox mode, does that make a difference? I'm just not seeing any option to see my canvas page. When I go to "preview" under "Review Status" I see some kind of stand in page but not my canvas page. What do I do?
Apps on Facebook are loaded into the Canvas section of the Canvas
Page. The Canvas is quite literally a blank canvas within Facebook on
which to run your app. You populate the Canvas by providing a Canvas
URL that contains the HTML, JavaScript and CSS that make up your app.
When a person using your app requests the Canvas Page, we load the
Canvas URL within an iframe on that page. This results in your app
being displayed within the standard Facebook chrome.
Here's how it works:
User goes to your canvas page (apps.facebook.com/canvasname) and they will see the normal Facebook application interface with a sidebar on the right and the other usual elements. The application will be loaded in an iframe. This iframe is loaded from the location you specify as Canvas URL. Canvas URL can be a page in your own website.
See Facebook Developers documentation for a detailed explanation.
I hope it helps!

Facebook Page a Mandatory Step for Entry Submission

I want to make my facebook page like mandatory for submission same as below article but I am not getting where
"Promotion Builder under Application > Integration > Facebook Like Box" is located.
http://support.strutta.com/kb/facebook-integration/how-to-make-liking-my-facebook-page-a-mandatory-step-for-entry-submission
I will find it in Facebook apps settings or page where apps are shown?
Any solution?
Thanks
The setting you are referring to is part of Strutta's web app, not Facebook. Assuming you have an Strutta PRO account, you must login to your account to activate the setting:
