What are the CF built-in webserver attributes? - coldfusion

There are some attributes listed here for ColdFusion's built-in webserver, like mapCheck and interface, but I can't find any documentation on what these do.
Does anyone know where there is documentation for these attributes? or what they do?

ColdFusion (up to 9) runs on Jrun (and it's a config item for the proxy service your looking at), so I'd start at the Jrun documentation:

Swagger with Resteasty 3 + Jetty 9.2 + JAX-RS 3

I am trying to configure an existing application to use Swagger. This application uses Resteasy 3 and Jetty 9.2 along with JAX-RS 3.
My changes are based on the explanations given on the Swagger wiki.
I have first added swagger 1.5.0 in my build.gradle before adding annotations #Api and #ApiOperation on a resource named SchedulerStateRest.
The next step was to edit my web.xml in order to hook up Swagger-Core in my Application and Initialize Swagger using Swagger's Servlet.
My issue is that when I launch my application, no resource is found when I browse /swagger.json or /swagger.yaml from http://localhost:8080. However, I get no error while starting Jetty and existing services are running and available.
I have enabled Jetty logs but I found no information relevant to me (the class in charge to launch Jetty embedded is JettyStarter).
By looking for similar problems, I found people who say that swagger content should be available at /v1/api-docs, so I tried different URLs but I always get a 404 error.
Recently, I found a gist from ben-manes for configuring swagger with Resteasy 3 + Guice 4. I tried to mimic its configuration and deduce the configuration for web.xml based on Guice-servlet explanations but I end up with the same problem as for the configuration explained above (no resource available are the expected address).
Since there is no error while starting embedded Jetty, I wonder if the issue is not related to a wrong address. Do you know how to list "resources" that are available on a Jetty instance?
I noticed that explanations on Swagger wiki are for Resteasy 2.X. Does it mean that Swagger is not compatible with Resteasy 3.x?
Ideas, suggestions, etc. to debug, solve the issue are welcome ;)
I actually figured it out yesterday. I'm going to post a sample application on git hub sometime this week since I can't find an example anywhere

Authentication with apache2 php pages and tomcat REST calls

Hello smart people on stackoverflow,
I would be very happy if someone could point me to the right libraries/frameworks to do what I want.
We have the following web architecture set up.
1. We have a tomcat server that offers REST services.
2. We have an apache2 server that serves up php pages to users.
a. Some of these php pages make REST calls to tomcat for data.
b. Other php pages contain javascript that makes REST calls that are routed through apache2 via mod_proxy to tomcat. e.g. All request to http://myapache.com/PASSTOTOMCAT/rest/getSecureData would go to tomcat.
Now, I'm asked to add authentication to everything, both the user pages as well as the REST calls. It would obviously be ideal for the user to sign-in once for access to both.
What library can I use for this? I don't think I can use any php-based solution (ie. one that involves adding a ) because the pass-through url's won't have a chance to add this code and check for authentication. I think I need to use something built into apache2 itself.
One minor requirement is that I would like the user credentials stored in a mysql database as opposed to a file.
Am I over-thinking this?
Thanks in advance
Well it's been 5 days, so I guess I'll answer my own question...
I ended up using the new mod_auth_form for authentication because it lets you use a nice stylized webpage to log users in.
I also used mod_dbd to access user credentials in mysql.
I couldn't find a nice tutorial on this so I struggled through the installation and setup a bit, but if anyone cares, I created a set of instructions on my blog in case anyone else tries to do the same thing.

tomcat webservice information java

I tried to look in Google and browse different issues here in the forum but couldn't find a solution.
I have a web-service and I want to create a method that returns information about the service and also about tomcat.
However, I couldn't find how to query tomcat.
I want to know for example on which port tomcat is listening, its JVM configuration, Memory Perm size and etc.
Thanks,
Clint
Look for the definitions in conf/server.xml - you can see the ports and threads definition.
What is your JAVA_OPTS at startup.sh or Catalina.sh? You can add there definition for jmx flags, XMx, garbage collection flags, etc
see this as example Tomcat jmx
Then you can also connect to your application from jconsole and see the tomcat jmx beans it is exposes.

ColdFusion Unable to create Solr collection Error

I'm trying to create a Solr collection in ColdFusion 9. I have never used Solr before, but I am following the directions in Forta's Web Application Construction Kit.
Every time I go to create the collection, I get the following error:
Unable to create collection usaf.
Unable to create Solr collection usaf.
An error occurred while creating the collection: org.apache.solr.common.SolrException. Check the Solr logs for more detail.
Anyone have a clue what's wrong? I have read that the update to CF 9.0.1 causes some issues with Solr -- I tried installing that update and it failed several times. Could that be the problem?
If so, how to solve it? This is on a production Windows Server 2008 and a previous attempt to uninstall and reinstall forced us to restore the server from an image because it was such a disaster.
I know this is a bit old but here is what I did to fix the same problem. Solr service in CF Administrator wasnt showing the core collection and it wouldnt let me create a new collection (as per above).
Using Win7, CF9.0.1
Stopped the Search service and the Solr service via the windows service manager.
Edited the file ColdFusion9\solr\multicore\solr.xml and removed the entries for the collections I was working on at the time it all stopped working. This is the step that seems to have made the difference. Backup the file first!!!
For the entries I removed from solr.xml I also removed the collection folders and files completely from the file system using windows file manager.
Restarted the Search service and Solr service. Core collection now appears in CF Administrator. My CF pages now create and index collections as they should. Phew!
Cheers,
Murray
You can check CFAdmin under Data & Services > ColdFusion Collections to make Solr is running. Should be a default collection listed. If not, search runs as seperate services on Windows. Check that ColdFusion 9 Search Server and Solr Service are there and started.
Adobe has a standalone Solr install. http://www.adobe.com/support/coldfusion/downloads.html
Updating to 9.0.1 and hotfixes corrupted my Solr install. Had to reinstall CF from scratch.
It's also possible for the ColdFusion Solr Search Service to be running even though Solr is not. This can happen, for example, when there are errors in a collection's schema.xml file. I imagine there are other conditions under which this can happen. At any rate, as the poster above explained, if you look on CF Admin under "ColdFusion Collections" you should see at least the default Solr collection (core0). If you don't see that collection then Solr isn't running properly even if Windows tells you that the service is running.
Also, you may want to see if you can reach the Solr web service (port 8983 by default): http://localhost:8983/solr/
There could be 3 reasons for this:
1. Solr is not running.
2. Solr is running and if you are on Unix, Solr/CF is running as a non privileged user.
3. Solr is installed after CF. In that case go to CF Admin Data& Services->Solr Server(CF10) and provide solr home path.
It seems like solr service is timing out or not working properly for some reason.
First make sure that you can go to the Solr Admin UI on one host. Try http://hostname:8983/solr/ or http://localhost:8983/solr/ from RDP. If it is not working, then you will get the exact error or reason for why you are getting an error while adding CF collection. Most probably there should be CF collection which is not configured properly and you may remove those from 'ColdFusion9\solr\multicore\solr.xml'.

Add SugarCRM REST services to NetBeans

I'm trying to use NetBeans "Add Web Service" wizard to see SugarCRM REST web services. But when I insert url 'http://ip/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php' (or 'http://ip/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php?wadl') I receive the error message:
"cannot determine if the service is of type wsdl or wadl".
I have already included JAX-RPC plugin, as mentioned in 'http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4762149/adding-new-web-services-in-netbeans', but this not helped. In fact, I think NetBeans doesn't need RPC plugins to connecto to REST services...
Any help?
As far as I know, Sugar uses the same methods and types for both SOAP and Rest. Can Netbeans interpret a soap wsdl for rest purposes?
I don't think you're using the correct URLs.
One of the URLs in your post: http://ip/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php -> is trying to go to a host called "ip". Is that a host in your network? If not, then its going nowhere.
