I'm a starting a project which consist in sending a request to a web-service (which is already available) and parsing the response. I have the WSDL and URL endpoints. Does anyone have a startup tutorial on how to build something from there?
I would like to use Axis2 + Axiom to send the service request and receive and process the response. I'm using eclipse as dev env. I've been search for a tut on how to do this but with no success.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
this might help you
creating a webservice client using eclipse
I don't know about Axiom, but SOAP UI is a terrific tool for testing web services in just the manner you describe.
I don't know if Eclipse has a plug-in for it. (They do for everything else.) IntelliJ supports it, so that's how I use it.
Well in conclusion, I did find two very useful links for the Apache axis2 project, got it working in no time!
A deep explanation Invoking Web Services using Apache Axis2:

For code generation from WSDL:

I have a grails project where I need to place a report in a CRM called Lagan. I am using grails cxf client for accessing SOAP web services of Lagan. By following the example given in https://github.com/Grails-Plugin-Consortium/grails-cxf-client-demo
I am not able to correctly set the configuration parameters in conf file. I got a user name and password and url for accessing the lagan server which is part of a website.
Does anybody have experience in integraing with Lagan?
Starting with new web service is always hard part. I found useful to first figure out correct SOAP envelope. For example using this https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wizdler/oebpmncolmhiapingjaagmapififiakb plugin. When you have envelope that is working fine you can start troubleshooting your library. Review SOAP differences.
In Laravel 4 framework, how to create a SOAP based web service. I would like to build a SOA based web application in laravel. Please clarify with an example how to use web service with some step by step examples or links as i am completely new to laravel
Thanks in advance..
You can use "php-wsdl-creator" (also supports SOAP). They have a great tutorial and many demo php files to get you started. It can also easily be implemented in laravel or any other framework for that matter. :)
You can find more information on Google Code: https://code.google.com/p/php-wsdl-creator/
Also note that SOAP requires an extension to be loaded in PHP.
For more recent needs, you should use a Project such as wsdl2phpgenerator or PackageGenerator from WsdlToPhp. This sort of projects, requirable with composer, use an OOP approach and allows to build a SOAP request easily with PHP objects then handle the response just as the request with PHP objects.
I've had nothing but problems using libraries that claim to simplify consuming SOAP Web Services. I've been using KSoap2 on the Blackberry to accomplish this, but I'm not liking the process at all.
On Android I manually created my envelopes with much success, I ended up doing the same on iPhone after much disappointment using SudzC.
I would like to do this for Blackberry as well. What classes should I use and how should I structure the envelope?
Thanks a lot.
See this article on the use of the Java Wireless Toolkit to create your coded stubs from your wsdl. It will save you a lot of time (and pain). I based my SOAP web service code on this article, and it worked well for me.

I'm consuming REST services that output XML documents, and we're doing all XML processing with the DOM libraries provided by RIM (using classes like net.rim.device.api.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder and net.rim.device.api.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory).
The HTTP part can be done Java ME IO support (with javax.microedition.io.HttpConnection). Making your own SOAP WS client sounds like a lot of work, but it can certainly be done.
I'm trying to use NetBeans "Add Web Service" wizard to see SugarCRM REST web services. But when I insert url 'http://ip/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php' (or 'http://ip/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php?wadl') I receive the error message:
"cannot determine if the service is of type wsdl or wadl".
I have already included JAX-RPC plugin, as mentioned in 'http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4762149/adding-new-web-services-in-netbeans', but this not helped. In fact, I think NetBeans doesn't need RPC plugins to connecto to REST services...
Any help?
As far as I know, Sugar uses the same methods and types for both SOAP and Rest. Can Netbeans interpret a soap wsdl for rest purposes?
I don't think you're using the correct URLs.
One of the URLs in your post: http://ip/sugarcrm/service/v2/rest.php -> is trying to go to a host called "ip". Is that a host in your network? If not, then its going nowhere.
I have looked into everything but I think this is a unique problem. I have a web service in my website. This web service uses XMLRPC.NET but that hardly matters. i use this web service to get the string sent by the client and convert it into XML.This all is working fine. But the real problem is: I have a .aspx that uses the above written xml to generate a crystal report and save it as a PDF. The problem is I cannot call the .aspx page from my web service as response. redirect does not work. I tried writing the complete crystal report generation and PDF save logic in the web service method but it does not work because the CrystalReportViewer1.reportsource gives an error as it does not recognize the CrystalReportViewer1 in the current context. is there any way that I can do this by redirecting or by using the crystal report logic in the web service or any other way. Seems a little complicated but any help will be greatly appreciated. Please need help.
Thank You
