Can I create a cross-project source reference in redmine? - redmine

If you have two separate projects that is somehow connected. How can one make a reference to the source of the other project?
For referencing the source of your own project you use:
source:some/file
But since I want to refer to code in another project my thought was that I could write something like:
other_project:source:some/file
Anyone that knows if this is possible in some way? I have read http://www.redmine.org/wiki/redmine/RedmineTextFormatting#Redmine-links but found no clues there.

Apparently this was implemented in Redmine 1.2.0 (released 2011-05-30). The syntax is exactly the one you suggested in the question, other_project:source:some/file, other_project being the project identifier.

It is possible in a couple of ways - although neither solution is particularly neat.
use an external html link to the other_project source code, where other-proj is the identifier for the other project.
"other project source":http://myserver:3000/projects/other-proj/repository/entry/file.txt
define the source path via the parent directories, so from the source directory of your current project go up 3 directory levels before navigating back down to the repository of your other project. Note the source link needs to be inside double quotes to work. This method at least keeps the source tag at the front of the link.
source:"../../../other-proj/repository/entry/file.txt"

The Redmine Text Formatting page says the format is:
source:repo_identifier|some/file
Even so, the selected answer works for my version of Redmine (1.4.2), but it may have been changed in later versions. This link format was added to that wiki page on 2012-08-27, after OP asked their question.

The Xcode4.2 with ASIHTTPRequest configuration

I installed ASIHTTPRequest follow the document on their official site . But still have errors here. Please help. The related info is as follows :
Xcode 4.2 build 4D58
Lion 10.7.2
I can not upload the images because I am rookie here.(now I upload to site and linked here)
http://roundmov.com/project.png
build settings and build phrase png is here :
http://www.roundmov.com/buildphases.png
I have added all the files including external dir. and added libraries ,all of them in docs mentioned.
Even added the header search paths as $[SDKROOT]/usr/include/libxml2
But still have 107 or 67 errors . This problem has boring me one more day.
Thanks a lot in advance!
How can I disable ARC for a single file in a project?
If you follow the instructions here for all of the ASIHTTPRequest files it will compile as you need to disable arc on those files.
ah right, yep, so ASIHTTPRequest isn't ARC compatible and it doesn't look like that will change. i've never actually "downgraded" a project from ARC to non-ARC, but if it's something you've just started on you could create a new project and uncheck the ARC checkbox when you do and re-add all your existing files. this will mean you need to handle the memory management of objects (retain/release/autorelease).
this thread has more info:
https://groups.google.com/group/asihttprequest/browse_thread/thread/3f26e442dc6868e8
as an alternative, you could look into AFNetworking:
https://github.com/AFNetworking/AFNetworking
you still need to take some extra steps to get it working with ARC, but it doesn't look too bad.

What is the Anjuta project template (automake) *.wiz format (syntax)?

Apparently it's XML-like. Example templates can be found in the gnome Anjuta shares on an Ubuntu install at /usr/share/anjuta/project/
I think I'll go back to Eclipse and gedit if it doesn't look like Anjuta has documented a decent auto-completion, project build, and syntax-highlighting template format. Others with the same question went fishing on Ubuntu forums and had no luck.
The answer might also help people trying to build automake scripts for svn repos at [https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5926366/using-anjuta-with-svn-how-to-create-the-project]
A bit overdue, but I found the official documentation, and remembered having seen your post. From the docs:
The template files look like xml documents and have normally the
extension .wiz. All templates and others related files are installed
by default in $anjuta_install_dir/share/anjuta/templates. But the
project wizard looks for templates in the sub directory
anjuta/templates of all user data directories as defined by XDG Base
Directory Specification too. It is possible to override a Anjuta
project template by an user one put, by example, in
~/.local/share/anjuta/templates.
The template file is divided in four parts: an header block, one or
more page blocks, a content block and an optional action block. The
file is read several times, one time for each block but before reading
it, the whole file go though a transformation pass and only the
resulting file must be a valid xml file. The transformation pass uses
autogen.

Working with Box2D/Cocos2D in an external iOS project

I have followed the instructions as per this article and have been working with Cocos2D without much issues. Recently, I tried including the Box2D headers to try some physics like so:
#import "Box2D.h"
This resulted in a lot of errors where the Box2D.h file could not include the rest of the header files:
../cocos2d-iphone-0.99.5/external/Box2d/Box2D/Box2D.h:34:0 ../cocos2d-iphone-0.99.5/external/Box2d/Box2D/Box2D.h:34:37: error: Box2D/Common/b2Settings.h: No such file or directory
That's the first error and the rest of the 23 are like that, but for the different headers in Box2D.h.
I have already added the projects/targets to the current project as per the instructions in the article, so my project currently looks like this:
Also, I have attempted to remedy this by selecting all .m files in my project and setting the file type to sourcecode.cpp.objcpp but do not think that this is the issue. I am certain that under the User Header Search Paths build setting, the folders where these headers are stored are added. If it weren't, Cocos2D wouldn't be able to compile either.
What am I doing wrong?
I don't know if this is immediately obvious to other programmers, but I fixed this by checking the Always Search User Paths setting in the target settings. Hope it helps someone else.
Another solition for me is removing blank characters from directory names. Forexample if your project folder such as
"user/prj 01"
change it to
"user/prj01".

Problem related to dll

Can anyone guide me what could be the problem in the mentioned below:-
alt text http://lh5.ggpht.com/_D1MfgvBDtsU/S5iLmYivj1I/AAAAAAAAABU/8Mquam_XxZ4/s912/dll%20issue.PNG
This PP folder is present in the following path at my desk "E:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\COMMON\SRC\SOC\COMMON_FSL_V2_PDK1_7\IPUV3"
In this IPUV3 folder, PP folder is present which does the resize, rotation & conversion task of an image. This PP folder consists of PDK & SDK . Inside PDK folder there is a file called Ppclass.cpp which i have modified.
After modifying the Ppclass.cpp i have
rebuild the PP folder to check whether
in my project the modification is
reflected or not. But later i found
that the problem is of pp.dll which
even after the rebuild of PP folder
the new pp.dll is not highlighted.
Also the path for iMX51-EVK-PDK1_7 is as follows:
"E:\WINCE600\PLATFORM\iMX51-EVK-PDK1_7\target"
So now i want advice that how to sort this problem. I am sure that this problem is related to pp.dll
Please guide me to follow the correct step. I will be very thankful to u all.
Thanks in Advance
Was everything working as expected before the code change?
Are you getting any build errors?
Do you have a DIRS file in the IPUV3 directory that specifies the two subdirectories?
What is the problem? State what you did, what you expect and what was the outcome. It is not clear right now.
Update:
According to the comment below it seems that the build process is having trouble parsing one of your SOURCES files. From the error my guess is you have someting similar to:
SOURCELIBS=E:\...
Try:
SOURCELIBS=\
E:\...
The \ symbol tells the tool that there is are more values on the next line.
By the way, I don't know who wrote this on the SOURCES file, but I think it is bad practice to use absolute paths. You should use the macro for your platform path _TARGETPLATROOT. Use it like this: $(_TARGETPLATROOT)\...

Excluding a single project file from an SVN repository

I have a django project that I have been working on as a solo developer, and have been using TortoiseSVN to keep the code managed in a repository on a work server. I work on this on a local installation of django etc.
There is now a second person who will be working on this project, and the possibility of working on some other PCs.
Now, there should, for the time being, only be one development version (branch?) of this project, but the configuration file (settings.py) will need to be different on each computer that is being used. I want to create one local version of this file on each PC which should not need to be changed again.
How can I set the repository (preferably within TortoiseSVN) to exclude this one file? E.g. the repository should not include settings.py. When a checkout occurs, it should update all files in the local folder but not change/remove the local copy of settings.py. When a commit occurs, settings.py should be ignored and not uploaded.
At the moment settings.py is overwritten/updated as per any other file in the project folder/repository.
Any nudges in the right direction would be useful - I'm new to SVN generally and would like to know if this is something that's going to need detailed understanding of branching or if there is a simpler way.
Thanks
In TortoiseSVN, when you try to commit your files, in the file list dialog, right click the file and look for the Ignore option. You can ignore by complete filename or extension.
If the file is already in the repository, and you want to remove it from there and ignore it, you can simply right-click the file and in the TortoiseSVN menu look for the 'Delete and add to ignore list' option.
You'll be looking for the svn:ignore property, which tells subversion to not version files matching a pattern or patterns you specify.
There's some guidance on using it with TortoiseSVN at:
http://arcware.net/tortoisesvn-global-ignore-pattern-vs-svn-ignore/
These should help:
I have a file in my project that every developer must change, but I don't want those local mods to ever be committed. How can I make 'svn commit' ignore the file?
Excluding Items from the Commit List
The typical solution is to do what bgever said and ignore the settings file itself, and then commit a file with example values, something like settings.py.example. That file should only be updated when you add or remove settings. When deploying, you'd copy that to settings.py and edit the values.
