I have looked at various questions and other websites regarding this. I'm not able to find and proper solution
I have downloaded Eclipse which came along with the Android Development Tools. I'm using the the same eclipse for running java programs. Now that i want to run C/C++ programs,
I downloaded and installed the CDT plugin for eclipse.
Then I downloaded minGW, set the environment variable "Path" under system variables to the "bin" directory of minGW
But when I run the program, it gives and Error "Launch Failed. Binary not found."
Please help me resolve this issue
Thank you
I haven't used C++ in a while but I was able to setup eclipse and setup the basics. I need to write a program using libserial to communicate with a MC and I'm clueless on how to add the libserial library. I was able to download it from the official website (http://libserial.sourceforge.net/) but cant figure out how to install it.
Can anybody put up a quick Tutorial on how adding libserial to an eclipse project. Until now my includes give me an unresolved inculsion error at these lines:
#include <SerialStream.h>
using namespace LibSerial;
thanks.
PS: I'm new to programming on ubuntu
I've spent hours looking up how to fix this problem but nothing has worked. I have eclipse Indigo with CDT and ive downloaded cygwin and packages such as g++, make file, etc. When I try to execute any code I end up with the error Launch failed. Binary not found. I've also set the system path C:\cygwin\bin. How can I set up eclipse so I can use it as my IDE for c++?
Found the problem, I didn't press the hammer button to build the project first. I've only used eclipse for java and I could just hit run and everything would work fine.
Try downloading MinGW, and using those compilers. The Cygwin tools require libraries that Eclipse may not load. The MinGW executables do not require any additional environment like Cygwin does.
Also, in order to use most Cygwin executables, you need to launch the Cygwin environment first.
I installed netbeans6.7.1 ide for c/c++ also i have mingw/msys cygwin installed and i have given C:\Msys\bin as environment variable path.It has gdb7 version. However wheni run dbugging thru netbeans it prompts that GDB version 0 not supported on this platform.Pls help
I have made the project from existing files by giving netbeans the path of makefile.
Also pls provide some tips on debugging in netbeans using gdb.
read and follow the doc. it says that for netbeans 6.7.x with mingw you need gdb 6.8.
I've been trying to use CDT with Eclipse 3.4 under Windows XP with cygwin.
What do I need to do, in order to get startet?
I used "eclipse-cpp-ganymede-SR1-win32.zip" found on the Eclipse homepage.
Edit:
The main problem is, that I cannot compile and run the code.
In the run configuration, I tried gcc.exe for the C/C++ Application:
After adding the path of make.exe to my $Path, and starting from scratch, it works perfectly.
I finally found. Thanks guys.
After downloading and unpacking "eclipse-cpp-ganymede-SR1-win32.zip", you need to install either Cygwin or MinGW.
Make sure the compiler (e.g. gcc.exe) and make.exe is on your $Path.
Start Eclipse and everything should work fine.
If you want to use Eclipse/CDT on Windows, you should consider using Wascana Desktop Developer, a CDT distro specially targeting Windows hosts.
According the the CDT Downloads page:
As a minimum, you need to install the Eclipse Platform Runtime before installing the CDT
So adding the CDT Ganymede update site to your current eclipse 3.4 configuration should be enough for you to install CDT.
After that, do you have any error message ?
For instance, there can be some eclipse.ini-related issues when using this package.
For me the package you downloaded worked from start. However I was using it with MinGW instead of Cygwin.
I am using it also for QT4 development together with QT Integrator.
I use MinGW, though I note that the documentation says you can use Cygwin. I would have a look through Max Berger's CDT guide to troubleshoot the problem.
you can install both Cygwin and MinGW in your system. gcc and make available with Mingw seems to be suitable better for native windows build. If the PATH environment is set to paths of Cygwin [and/or] MinGW Eclipse project wizard asks you select one . Either Cygwin or MinGW.
For MingW, you may need to download gdb as well, if you need to debug your application
