I'm setting up the soil for my simple c++ game. But there are something wrong with my SOIL setup.
I used vs2019 in the Win10, and I have also successfully set up my openGL (through the test sample).
But when I tried to import the SOIL and built the project, there was always show me link error 1104 with 'SOIL.lib'.
Although I have tried to rename the libSOIL.a or build the SOIL.lib by source file, it also gave me the same result.

So I wanted to create a project, but when I tried to add a simple header file (adp.h), use quick fix to add this line: "${workspaceFolder}/lib/boot/headers" to c_cpp_properties.json and build the project, builder does not even find this file.
It seems strange to me, because three days earlier, when I was using this method to add header files the builder was building my older projects flawlessly.
adp.h do not contain anything

I want to be able to build mysql-connector/c++ applications in debug mode (VS2k17), and understand the only way I can do that is to first build mysql-connector-cpp from source on my computer (Windows 10/64bit). I tried the following:
cmake . -DWITH_SSL=C:\Users\Rawb\source\libraries\OpenSSL-Win64
and it looks to complete successfully ...
Install location: C:/Users/Rawb/MySQL/MySQL Connector C++ 8.0
Connector libraries will be installed at: lib
-- Configuring done
-- Generating done
-- Build files have been written to: C:/Users/Rawb/source/repos/mcc2/mysql-connector-cpp
but when I run the following cmake build ...
cmake --build . --config
it fails with this output ...

What might I be doing wrong? Do I just need to place the ssleay32.lib file somewhere? I do have a copy of it but not sure how it should be included. Or is it more complex? I.e. Do I need to build Open SSL first on my machine as well? This is a deep rabbit hole for me, I may be in over my head haha!
NOTE: I also asked this question on reddit with no luck, so hoping someone here might know.
If you're using MSVS (any version, including MSVS 2017), then I'd suggest using "NMake" (instead of cmake). Or just create a new C/C++ library project in the MSVS IDE.
The flag you're looking for is /LIBPATH. I don't think you need "-D", but you certainly need "/LIBPATH".
Here are the MSVS linker options:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/build/reference/linker-options?view=vs-2017
Finally, you might be able to do all the troubleshooting/tracing you want without actually debugging (and rebuilding) the connector code.
Here's how to enable tracing in the MySQL Connector:
https://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-cpp/1.1/en/connector-cpp-debug-tracing.html
Please let me know if this helps.
I saw many many people ask this question and apparently there is no absolute answer to this question.
this happened for me when I uninstall my visual studio 2015 cause unreal 4.18 no matter I do use VS 2015 and I want to use 2017 and I saw some people solve this problem with uninstalling VS 2015.
when I uninstall VS 2015 receive this error when I want to create a new C++ project:

many peoples mention its relate to Windows SDK and there is windows SDK in installing if I add more let me know.

I thought if I install unreal 4.19 its maybe get fixed but it didn't.
it seens ue4 genrate C++ files for VS 2015.
enter image description here
I hope there is anyone known how to solve this problem and guide me how.
I fix it with downloading this cleaner form this link https://github.com/Microsoft/VisualStudioUninstaller/releases .
after that UE4 when you want to create new project sends a message and it says you don't have VS2017 don't panic just download the installer and modify it after that it downloading about 350 mg and after that, everything will get fixed.

This is my first question here, and i'm not good at english, so be merciful :D
I am trying to build an ASSIMP library in Code::Blocks (MinGW compiler). I used CMake to generate C::B project (i haven't changed much apart from setting DirectX path and enabling BOOST workaround ).When i'm trying to build the project the library seems to build:
Build finished: 1 errors, 204 warnings (17 minutes, 25 seconds)
but i get an error :
=== Assimp, all ===
... (warnings)
invalid option -f
Enyone knows what seems to be the problem ?
I'm creating my first unit test (google test) in C++ using Netbeans. I have followed the official tutorial but I keep running into an error when hit the test button.
The error:
fatal error - error while loading shared libraries:
/cygdrive/E/softwares_n_studies/Netbeans/installed/NetBeans_7.3.1/ide/bin/nativeexecution/Windows-x86/unbuffer.dll:

What does this error mean and how can I fix it?
Go to the properties of you project->run->Console Type and change to External Terminal.
