Let's say that I've created a diagnostic analyzer that shows warning if an IfStatementSyntax does not have opening and closing braces. Also, my Visual Studio extension has setting allowing to the user to disable such kind of diagnostics. What I am trying to achieve is to invalidate the current diagnostics when this setting has been change because they might be inadequate. Am I able to do this somehow?
It appears that there is no such mechanism at the time being.

Is there any way to ignore these kind of errors (django expressions)? The code works perfectly, but VS Code is triggering those errors, which I find visually distracting.
You just need to install an extension that provides language support for Django templates. Go search for one that works for you on the Visual Studio Marketplace or in the extensions view of VS Code.
I'd list some extensions on the marketplace, but in the interest of being non-biased and not having to come and maintain a list when new ones come out in the future, I won't. (There's also the fact that Stack Overflow is not a platform for software recommendations (see #3 of /help/on-topic)).
Now, if you really just want to disable problem highlighting, see How can I easily toggle display of problem underlining in VS Code editor panels?
I have just updated Postman to the latest version and it is very explicitly trying to force me to create an account and use a workspace.
I really don't need any workspace and would like to continue working locally, but I'd rather not see the warning. I don't really see any way of turning it off.
Is it possible to do?
As of version 8.0.3, you can simply click the X to the right of the warning
When we debug an MVC5 application, links are provided to access the running scripts as shown below. This is for a basic MVC5 application that has had absolutely no modifications:
If we simply refresh the screen 3 times on the home page, the list displayed gets longer as shown below:
I've never really tried to debug a script yet. I have used the html links to view pages and I understand I can open one of the .js files, set a breakpoint and try to debug a script. But why are there so many links?. I would have thought I only need a single link for any given script or page that is in progress; that the links would go away when the script or page is no longer active. Clearly I'm missing something about the constantly growing list.
Could someone provide a brief explanation of this feature and how I will use it. My book on Visual Studio mentions this feature, but doesn't provide enough text for me to get a handle on this aspect of the feature.
This looks like a bug in the Edge debug adapter. Specifically, the adapter is supposed to send an event when the page refreshes (or a navigation occurs) to clear out old scripts that are no longer valid for the new execution context (here's a link to the event description in the debug adapter protocol if you're curious).
We've opened an issue on the GitHub project where you can track the progress of the fix.
For a workaround in the mean time, if you click on the bottom-most duplicate script in the list, that should be the latest loaded version, and should work without error.
*EDIT:
We've got a fix for the issue which should be out with 16.2 Preview 2 of Visual Studio.
In Visual Studio 2017 I often see one or more useful Quick Actions (the yellow lightbulb). Most of these actions are effective tools to refactor my code.
But I don't understand the action "Change signature..." (see screenshot below). It seems to pop up all the time, especially when I select a function/sub call. When I select this action I can rearrange the parameters in the call, even if I have only one parameter in the call (why rearrange one parameter?). I don't find this action useful at all...
I have tried to find an explaination and/or usefulness of this action. Can anyone explain if I'm missing something important? Or is it simply an annoying feature that I have to live with?

Old question, but I found this when I googled the problem.
In my case, this was just a matter of myself being impatient and Visual Studio showing errors prematurely. This suggestion will be made if your method returns a type by definition, but no return value is set.
I'm a little bit reluctant as to ask question, as it was asked already here, but the problem is, it wasn't answered sufficiently enough, so I'm forced to ask it second time.
So, just as previously mentioned asker I'm trying to create new project in Microsoft Visual 2010. And instead of showing normal window, it prompts me to save .html file, as shown in picture below.
Saving it and that opening it results in the following window:
though it does nothing - just page with no influence over the project at all.
Notably, this happens not only for Win32 application, but for MFC applications too.
As for the cause of this I don't know of it. As you can see from first screenshot, I was doing Web applications before hand, but I didn't change any of preferences at all (though, my guess is that it's somehow connected).
As for solving this issue, I tried uninstalling IE8, as stated in previous topic, but that didn't help. Also, I tried doing Tools -> Import & Export Settings -> Reset, but it didn't help either.
Please, if someone know solution for this, tell me - I'm out of my wits with this problem.
This problem is occurred because some Visual studio setting is corrupted.
I'd like to recommend to reset settings like following
start > Run> devenv.exe /resetsettings
Unfortunately, many parts of this case related to disturbing or collisions among files. In my experience, some programmes, which were installed recently, might cause this concern.
I'd like to recommend to install all service packs and update patches for VS 2010 and then try it again. If it doesn't fixed, reinstalling VS will be a relevant solution for saving your time and conserving your passion.
